The Prague School of Photography (PFŠ) was founded on September 1, 1972, by Dr. Ing. Václav Valášek, CSc. Since then, it has become a respected center for photography education in the Czech Republic. PFŠ builds on its tradition, the expertise of its instructors, and a modern approach to teaching that supports creativity and individual development.

The school offers various forms of study for adults (18+), which can be combined according to personal interests and schedules:

  • Semester Program – designed for beginners who want to learn the basics of photography and gain confidence for further development.

  • Block-Based Study – a flexible program organized in study blocks that can be completed in as little as one year, allowing students to progress at their own pace.

  • Courses and Workshops – short-term and thematic programs that expand knowledge and practical skills in specific areas of photography.

All programs are non-accredited, interest-based studies, emphasizing the connection between theory and practice, the development of a personal artistic voice, and individual support. PFŠ is also a community where people with similar interests meet, share experiences, and find inspiration.

Instructors and experts from practice provide a combination of theoretical knowledge, practical experience, and personal feedback. The teaching supports creativity, technical skills, and the development of an individual visual style, allowing students to progress at their own pace.

Detailed information about programs, pricing, and schedules can be found in the relevant tabs on the website, or upon request from the school.

Join the PFŠ community and develop your creative potential in photography!
